A transposed version of 'The twelve days of Christmas', about 12 of the 36 nations represented amongst the 650+ detainees held, legally or otherwise, at Guantánamo Bay, the U.S. air base in Cuba.

On my first day at Guantánamo the U.S. sent to me,
A single Iraqi detainee.

On my second day at Guantánamo the U.S. sent to me,
Two German coves,
And a single Iraqi detainee.

On my third day at Guantánamo the U.S. sent to me,
Three French men,
Two German coves,
And a single Iraqi detainee.

On my fourth day at Guantánamo the U.S. sent to me,
Four Irani Kurds,
Three French men,
Two German coves,
And a single Iraqi detainee.

On my fifth day at Guantánamo the U.S. sent to me,
Five Kazakh kings,
Four Irani Kurds,
Three French men,
Two German coves,

On my sixth day at Guantánamo the U.S. sent to me,
