Mouse of Horrors

To Kate the cold-blooded killer (who massacred an entire family of mice)

Once there was a mouse, I've heard,
That ate his food then laid a turd,
Not thinking, as he climbs in bed,
That he'll very soon be dead.

'Neath Kate's duvet mousie's found,
Bereft of breath, friends gathered round,
The food is laced with cyanide,
And that is why poor mousie's died.

Mouse number two goes much more quickly,
Banged in a trap, and rather sickly,
As he is released, it seems,
His head falls off, to countless screams.

Mouse number three has an easy choice,
Hoovered or set free, (rejoice!),
Unlikely, in this tale of woe,
That mousie number three's let go!

Mouse number four is not so lucky,
He hasn't reckoned with the Chuckie,
She puts down some poisoned pies,
Which mousie eats, then chokes, then dies.

Mouse number five is next to go,
But no less coldly murdered though,
As knife is used as flailing cutter,
Mousie's head lands in the gutter.

In four dead mice and one set free,
Kate's destroyed a family,
And now she's feeling some remorse,
For the one that got away, of course.

EPILOGUE

As finale to this forlorn story,
Mouse number three met ending gory,
As refuge under wheels he sought,
With crunching noise, his life cut short.
