Welcome, one and all!

You have reached, by fair means or foul (and like it or not), the 'poetic sanctuary' that is goofingoff.org - an entire website dedicated to works created solely whilst supposed to be doing something else. Goofingoff.org is a unilaterally 'not-for-profit' organisation (in fact it may even be to your (or more likely your employer's) detriment that you have landed here at all). In fact we wholeheartedly encourage you to indulge in your own goofing off and submit the results!

Stuff, etc.	Various poems, clerihews, cinquains, haiku, triolets and limericks on a range of subjects from animals, to war, to food and drink, and most combinations of these topics too... in fact the most random collection of nonsense (quite literally).
People	These are poems about people we know. In spite of the (apparently) vaguely inflammatory nature of some of these poems, which have variously been reviewed as 'ungentlemanly' and 'horrible', the subjects should nonetheless be flattered, in our opinions, to have made it into our noble works at all.
The Classics	Transposed versions of classical poems, from Coleridge to Poe (and that's all thus far). Settle back and witness the ribald, scurrillous and wanton desecration of the hallowed works of some of the world's most celebrated poets.
Modern Poetry	Be warned - some of this really is extremely modern. If you find yourself feeling nauseous through incomprehension or sheer anger, then please switch off your computer, lie down in a darkened place and wrap a damp towel around your head - your bewilderment will soon be replaced with serenity.
Poetry Explained	In this section we exhume the buried meaning in some classical works, and try to make even some of our own poetry more accessible to the befuddled masses. So if you're feeling confused, why not take a scuba dive in this think-tank of literary analysis?
