Poetry Explained

So, you read some poems, and your overriding thought was "What?" or possibly "What the ****?". Well, you're (almost) not alone - here we attempt to explain the richness of meaning of some classical poetry to give you an idea what the greats themselves were thinking at the moment the creative urge struck. You will be surprised perhaps at the true interpretations of some familiar works. At some point we will also explain some of the apparently inpenetrable claptrap contained in our own 'modern poetry' section, but please be patient as we're still trying to work out what some of it means ourselves...
