The Unforgiven

An ode to unforgiven souls

They weep into the fading light,
Their sorrow borne on breaths of air,
Above the satin sequined night,
To none but those arisen there.

Where angels sail their graceful boats,
The tide of sadness ebbs and flows,
An undulating chorus floats,
Upon a wind of hopes and woes.

The orchestra of soul's lament,
With lowered bows their echo fades,
Senescent tincture of repent,
Overpowered by sable shades.

On barren shores the waves cascade,
Unanswered cries sent crashing home,
Where broken dreams become unmade,
The unforgiven souls still roam.
